Rosedale Recreation Center, Playground, and Pool

Overview:The Rosedale Recreation Center, Playground, and Pool project was new construction of a neighborhood community recreation center with a library totaling up to 26,500 SF. Blue Skye is very proud to have worked as the general Contractor on this job.

The scope of work included the building of a full scale indoor basketball court, library, full length artificial turf football field, large professional kitchen area, computer room, exercise room, fully equipped senior activity room, splash park, pool, handicap accessible playground and field press box. The exterior scope of work included site amenities such as benches, trash cans, bike racks, additional trees and landscaping. The project was designed with LEED silver standards including a 9,000 SF green roof.

Rosedale was completed with BSC’s joint venture partner. The Center won the Excellence Award from Chesapeake chapter of the ABC. The completion of this playground made US history while also achieving 53% CBE subcontracting participation of which 44% was with SBE/WBE/LSDBE firms.
